A Yoruba Orisha (Deity), Oshun is one of the Seven African Powers of the Afro-Caribbean traditions. Her sphere includes dance, song, the arts, abundance and luxury, beauty and grace, rivers and all flowing waters. Her colors are gold and yellow, her fruit the peach, among her birds the parrot.
Oshun is the joy that cannot be silenced. In this image her hair itself is becoming the river that echoes her movements.
