Although I sometimes use myself as a subject in experimental photography, and have once or twice been asked to put myself into a commissioned painting, I have not done very many deliberate self-portraits. This is one that was done the “very traditional” way— by studying myself in a mirror and rendering what I saw. It’s more challenging than you would think, but a good practice.
